The title of this artwork is "O Me of Little Faith"

The is an anonymous man taking drugs and the guy on this back is supposed to be Jesus. The argument being made is that Jesus is with us at all times and will even take the "hit" for us. This goes along with the Christianity belief that Jesus died on the cross for everyone's sins, including drug use. This painting supports the social order of America that Jesus does exist and can be your outlet if you just allow him to be. The target audience is everyone; not just drug users, but anyone dealing with sin. The skull in the artwork represents death. The activities the guy is choosing to engage in will ultimately kill him, but the death of Jesus will give him salvation. The chipped paint on the wall respresents chaos. It shows that this man's life is in turmoil. The way the icontisity of the art simplify the idea of the idea is by including more than one drug (sin) in the photo. It doesn't only pick on those who do heroine, but also those who drink alcohol, use cocaine, smokes harmful substances, or plays cards. The art makes use of the conventionalized object, playing cards, as pointing out that it is also evil (according to the Chrisitianity belief; in the pursuit of gambling). The syntactical indeterminacy that each viewer must interpret is the relationship between the man with the drugs, and the man that is on his back.
