post 4 persuasive language - ryan rogers

Both the pro and con side of the social media argument have  very high language intensity. they both present facts that make it seem like social media is the doom of society or its savior. I don't believe either one is correct in its extreme views but both make many valid points. I did not see any real instances of double speak, except for contention 7 on the con side there is a lot of information that is very complicated and is basically implying social media users are or will become insane. but I did see a lot of ultimate terms on both sides. the pro side talked a lot about empowering voters, increased quality of life, and free platforms. where as the con side used ultimate terms on the other end of the spectrum such as biggest waste of time, sex scandals, and bullying. both pro and con sides use a lot of the persuasive words such as you, free, instant, and new. I did not see very many euphemisms used, for the most part both pro and con sides said what they meant to say.
