Kre - Blog Post 5 - Nonverbal analysis
As in any analysis of a person physical appearance is the first impression. Obviously graduating from such a prestigious school know for producing the some of the most intelligent people into the business word you would think they would look the part. William Gates fulfills that part to the upmost with his suit and tie attire. Next would be proxemics which in this case would be him standing at the podium which was place where all could see him. It was his location while he went through his speech that made him the center of attention. An artifact in the short clip, if any, would be the red striped tie he wore in support of the colors of Harvard. There were not many to choose from but that tie was a key artifact in support of the school. Paralinguistic was shown when he told the jokes about the graduates that attended Harvard. His pitch was comical and suspenseful to the point where you just had to hear what is next. Lastly after the jokes were said and done Mr. Gate's facial expressions showed how serious he was about what he wanted to tell the graduates. He had a facial expression that seemed to be a determine or confident look. By moving his eye brows to show his determination an example of kinesics was shown in the speech.
