The music from the movie Jaws is meant to influence mood more than anything. It instills in its listeners suspense. Along with suspense, there is a sense of fear. It puts you on the edge of your seat. A viewer knows when they hear that music, something bad is fixing to happen. Its dark and slow. Then it gets faster and faster, pushing the viewer even closer to the edge of their seat. Then, when the shark attacks, the viewer is so ready for something bad to happen, it causes them to jump even higher and scream even louder.
Now when someone hears the music from Jaws, they immediately associate it with that movie inparticular. However, that same creepy feeling wells up in them and they just know something bad awaits.
