Jordan Johnson- Blog Post 6- Activist Art

The propaganda art that I chose for this assignment dates back to World War 2, where the American government was afraid of enemy spies lurking around on the streets. The poster above makes the argument that we are not always aware of who we are surrounded by and, therefore, should watch what we say. This piece of propaganda targets everyone who sees it, every American that loves their country and does not want to, potentially, be the cause of others’ death. The colors are what make this piece special, in particular, the sleeve. There are the American flag’s colors and what I believe to be Uncle Sam’s hand that is stretched forth. Both of which are important American icons. Due to the fact that this poster is so straight forward, there doe not seem to be and indeterminacy. It is either silence or death.
