post 5 nonverbal analysis - ryan rogers

speech 1 Bill Gates.
Bill Gates is well dressed in a very professional suit and tie. he seems at ease speaking in front of a large crowd. he smiles a lot and moves slowly back and forth and seems to be talking to everyone individually making the entire crowd laugh at mild jokes about dropping out. there is no real show of haptics as he is on stage. he uses immediacy well to allow for the crowd to laugh or applause. his paralanguage is a little monotone he doesn't really raise pitch, volume, or anything he kind of just stays in one tone.

Speech 2 Al Pachino
Al Pachino's speech in any given Sunday is one of my favorite fictional speeches of all time. he raises pitch and tone well going, at times from a whisper to shouting which draws the audience in. the artifacts are all around him in the sharks locker room which clearly shows its a football team which just goes to support his football is like life analogy. his haptics are good as he moves closer to and then away from his players, drawing them all in as a team. he has a good use of chronemics as well in the breaks he takes between words and sentences. his physical aprearence is clearly a man who is putting everything he has into this speech and his team. his kinesics is also good as he pounds the paper in his hand at the end of the speech.
